Hit 50 recurring clients this quarter and had to actually check the books twice
I run a small lead gen service for local contractors and I hit my 50th client this month, which is way more than I thought I'd have by now. It matters because I started this from my dining room table with just one plumber on retainer two years ago. Has anyone else had a milestone sneak up on them like that?

Got a buddy who runs a tree service and he called me last fall all stressed out because he accidentally booked himself into a three week wait for trimming jobs. He just kept taking calls and saying yes until his office manager quit on him. He literally had to stop answering his phone for a week to catch up.

That kind of growth sneaks up on you because you're too busy doing the work to notice the numbers piling up. I see that pattern all the time with the small business owners who bring their vans into my shop. They get so focused on the day to day that they don't realize their customer list has doubled until they have to shuffle their schedule twice. It's like going for a walk and not realizing how far you've gone until you look back at the starting point. The real trick is that when you're building something genuinely useful, the milestones just happen without all the noise and hoopla. Keep your head down and keep doing what you're doing, that's the main thing.

Man I feel that. I had to build a whole new scheduling system from scratch when I realized I was booking jobs two weeks out and still trying to juggle same day calls. The wild part is you dont even feel it happening until your calendar starts looking like a jigsaw puzzle. Just keep doing right by people and the numbers take care of themselves.
