Spent $800 on a lead gen tool that got me zero real clients in 3 months
I signed up for this B2B lead scraping software back in March thinking it would save me hours. It promised warm leads from LinkedIn and company databases, but every single contact I got was either outdated or totally irrelevant. I wasted three months tweaking filters and still couldn't get a single qualified conversation out of it. Meanwhile, I spent maybe 20 hours on cold email research myself and landed two solid meetings. So is it just me, or are most of these automated B2B outreach tools actually a scam for small operators? Has anyone else burned cash on one of these and regretted it?

The real problem is that these tools treat all businesses the same way. A tool built for a 50 person company is never going to work for a solo operator or tiny team. Your filters and data sources are way different than what a big sales team needs. Most of these software companies never even talk to people running small shops. They just build one size fits all and hope nobody notices.

Yeah, "one size fits all" stuff bugs me everywhere, not just software. It's like shampoo companies thinking the same bottle works for curly hair, straight hair, and a bald guy.
