Just found out my shed's floor can hold way more weight than I thought
I was reading the manual for my 8x10 Tuff Shed from 2019 and saw the floor joists are rated for 75 pounds per square foot. I'd been avoiding putting my old tile saw in there for years thinking it was too heavy. Does anyone know if that rating is for a full floor load or just a single point?

Isn't it funny how often we limit ourselves based on things we just assume are true? I do that all the time, like not stacking books on a shelf because I think it'll break, only to find out it's way stronger. That floor rating is usually for the whole area, so your tile saw is probably totally fine! We should really check the manuals for our stuff more often.

Yeah, the "check the manuals" thing hits hard. I did the same as betty_perry24 with a cheap IKEA dresser, stuffed it full of clothes and was scared to open it. Turns out it could hold way more. We really do just guess at this stuff.

Oh man, @zara_sanchez, you are so right about this. I totally did this with my old kitchen table, I was scared to put anything heavy on it for years. Then my friend just plopped a huge bag of dog food right in the middle and I almost had a heart attack... but the table didn't even creak. It's like we make up these rules in our heads and live by them. I bet half the stuff in my house is way tougher than I give it credit for. I never read the manuals either, they're always buried in a drawer somewhere. Makes you wonder what else we're just wrong about.
