My neighbor convinced me to ditch the plastic shed and build a lean-to instead

Last weekend I was out back staring at my old plastic shed that's got a crack in the roof from a tree branch. My neighbor Bob walked over and asked why I don't just build a lean-to against the house wall. I laughed it off at first because I thought sheds are the only real storage option. But he showed me his setup with just some pressure treated lumber and corrugated metal panels. He said it cost him about $150 for materials and took an afternoon to build. That really hit me because I spent $400 on my shed and it's already falling apart. Now I'm thinking about tearing mine down and trying his method. Has anyone else here made the switch from a cheap shed to a lean-to style storage?

Bob's setup sounds like the real deal honestly. lmao. I built a lean-to about two years ago after my shed roof caved in from snow load. It was the best decision I ever made for storage. lol. You can make it as wide or narrow as you want depending on your space. I used 2x4s and some leftover metal roofing from my neighbor and it's still holding up perfectly. The key is to anchor it to the house wall properly so it doesn't shift in wind. Way cheaper than buying another plastic shed that will just crack again.

My 400 dollar shed lasted 6 years before the crack showed up and a lean-to against my house gave me water seepage issues from the roof runoff that cost way more than 150 to fix.

Oh man, @paul_ramirez hit the nail on the head. I had the same issue with a lean-to, the runoff from the roof was wrecking my foundation until I added a gutter. Anchor it good like he said and you're golden.
