A commenter told me I was over-seasoning my garden beds and they were right
Last spring I dumped like $40 worth of store-bought compost and bone meal into a 4x8 bed before planting tomatoes. Some guy on a gardening forum said I was risking nutrient burn and salt buildup. I ignored him at first but after my plants got all yellow and stunted I tested the soil. pH was way off and nitrogen was through the roof. Now I just do a light layer of aged manure in the fall and let the worms do the work. Any other gardeners here get schooled by a random internet stranger?
