Just figured out I've been overcrowding my cookie sheets this whole time
I always wondered why my chocolate chip cookies came out more like one giant blob than individual cookies. Watched a baking show last Tuesday and saw they only put like 6 on a sheet, I was cramming 12 on there every time. Anybody else have a basic thing they missed for years?

Yeah, @young.michael's right about the crispy edges thing.

@violag80 says 6 is extreme but honestly that's exactly what the pros do and they're the ones getting paid for it lol. Do you find your cookies get those crispy edges and chewy centers with 10 on a sheet or do they kind of steam each other?

Six cookies per sheet sounds extreme though. I shove 10 on mine and they still turn out fine, just a little touching. Not everything has to be perfect.
