Cleaning the shop storage, I realized we never threw out a good pair of shears, we just resharpened them for years.

But new ones cut better and last longer.

Hey sage_jackson56, my old kitchen knife from a thrift store still outperforms most new stuff. They used thicker metal and better balance back then. A lot of new tools feel lighter and wear down faster in my hands.

Wait, so you never actually replaced them? That's wild to me because most stuff these days breaks so fast. You just kept sharpening the same pair for years? How is that even possible with today's throwaway culture? I swear, nothing is built to last anymore, and hearing this just proves it.

My buddy's dad still uses the same lawnmower from the 80s. He just changes the oil and sharpens the blade. Thing starts on the first pull every spring. Meanwhile, my new mower's plastic handle cracked in two seasons. Makes you wonder what changed in how they make things.
