Found out my favorite clipper oil is just mineral oil... with markup
I was reading the ingredients on a $14 bottle of blade oil last week and something bugged me, so I looked it up. Turns out the main ingredient is basically the same mineral oil you can buy at any pharmacy for like $4 a pint. I've been paying triple for years and telling clients it was some special formula... guess I was wrong. Has anyone else switched to cheap drugstore oil, or do you stick with the name brand for quality?

You said it yourself, the "special formula" is just mineral oil with a fancy label and a big price tag. I switched to the cheap pharmacy stuff years ago and my clippers run just as smooth, plus it does the same job of keeping rust off the blades. Save the extra cash for something that actually matters, like better scissors or a coffee fund.
