Overheard a client in Atlanta say his last barber used kitchen scissors on him
Guy comes in, sits down, and tells me his old barber was using kitchen scissors from the dollar store. Said he could hear them crunching through his hair like a bad steak knife. Made me wonder how many folks out there are getting hack jobs from people who never even bought a proper pair of shears. Has anyone else run into clients who didn't know what real barber tools are supposed to feel like?

My cousin tried cutting his own hair with sewing scissors once and it looked like a lawnmower hit him. Took me three hours to fix what he did with my proper shears.

Sewing scissors on hair? That's a bold move for someone who clearly doesn't value their hairline. Bet he looked like a confused sheep for a week.

Three hours? That's a full work day wasted on someone else's bad decision. I'd have made him wear a beanie for a month and let him learn the hard way. Sewing scissors are for fabric, not hair - those blades aren't sharp enough and they leave jagged edges that look terrible.
