Warning: Local shops are all installing those fancy massage chairs now.

I work in a busy downtown area. Three shops on my block just put in high end massage chairs for waiting clients. It's raising expectations and costs. How are you guys dealing with this trend?

That expectation creep is real and puts pressure on everyone else... now clients ask why we don't have fancy chairs too. You end up having to explain your prices more because they think your overhead is lower. Not sure how sustainable this whole arms race is gonna be.

Hear you loud and clear, @barbara_kim93. We faced the same thing when tablets became standard in waiting rooms.

This massage chair thing is just like when coffee shops all got those expensive espresso machines. Remember how a regular coffee became kinda lame overnight? Now every service business feels they need some flashy perk to compete. It pushes costs onto everyone, even if you don't want to play that game. After a while, these extras just become the new normal, and the cycle starts over.

Did you see that article about how these extras quietly raise prices for everyone?
