Psst, contractors install shower valves around 80 inches high, and my tape measure just busted that wide open

80 inches seems way too high for a shower valve. The standard is usually somewhere between 48 and 60 inches from the floor, depending on who you ask. That 80 number sounds more like where a shower head goes, not the valve itself. If someone actually put a valve at 80 inches you'd be reaching over your head every time you turned the water on, which makes zero sense.
