Wasted $300 on a 'viral' SEO tool that does nothing Google Search Console doesn't already do for free.

Bought into the hype for RankRocket Pro last month after seeing it promoted everywhere. It supposedly finds 'hidden keywords' and 'gap opportunities.' Turns out it just scrapes the same data GSC gives me, but with a prettier dashboard. I could've spent that cash on a nice dinner instead. Anyone else fall for one of these overpriced SEO gizmos?

$300 for RankRocket Pro? Man, that stings. I almost bought it last month but my gut told me to wait. I didn't realize they just scrape the same data Google gives us for free. That is a bold move pretending they found some secret sauce. I would be mad too, that's a lot of money for a fancy paint job on free info. Hope you can get your money back or at least get some good use out of the fancy dashboard.

Alice had the right idea pushing for a chargeback.

Ended up in the exact same boat with a different tool last year. What worked for me was emailing their support and straight up asking for a refund, citing that the "proprietary data" they advertised was just rebranded Google keyword data. They fought it for a bit but eventually caved after I linked them to a few blog posts calling out the same scam. If that doesn't work, a chargeback through your bank is a totally valid move, don't feel bad about it. These companies count on people being too embarrassed or tired to fight back, so be persistent. I learned my lesson real quick to always check a tool's trial or money back guarantee before buying, even if the sales page looks slick.
