I finally got a crash that taught me to always double-check my G-code offsets

It was on a VF-2 at my old shop in Toledo, and I loaded a program without verifying the work offset. The tool plunged straight into the vise jaw. I had to replace the holder and re-indicate the part, which took over an hour. Anyone else have a simple check they run before hitting cycle start now?

I remember when my first week's schedule had 3 names on it, all friends. Anyone else get a number that made them pause and think 'wow, we're really doing this'?

TIL a cheap post hole digger from Harbor Freight cost me a full day on a job in Springfield.

The handle snapped clean off after about 15 holes on a basic cedar fence line. Had to send my guy to get a new one while I stood around, which killed our schedule. I'm out about $120 for the lost time, not even counting the tool cost. Anyone have a solid brand for a manual digger that can take some clay soil?

Need a solid business lawyer for a highly specialized startup

Hey everyone, I'm spinning up a new venture in a pretty weird/specialized sector (don't want to dox myself, but think alternative materials/biotech). I'm trying to find a business lawyer who won't just give me generic boilerplate advice and actually gets how weird our regulatory landscape is. Anyone have recommendations for smaller firms that actually listen?

I was sure digital painting needed tons of layers until a simple flat color study changed my mind.

Seeing how much mood I could get with just one layer and some opacity tweaks really opened my eyes.
