Update: That seized spoke nipple on my vintage Cannondale
After three days of soaking in penetrating oil and using a torch, I still snapped the spoke trying to free it. Had to cut the rim tape and drill the nipple out from the inside. Has anyone else had luck with a specific spoke nipple tool for old aluminum rims?

Did you have to grind any flats on the nipple for the SW-7 to grab it, or does it just bite into the rounded stuff? @paige166 curious about that.

On the older rims I've messed with, the SW-7 usually bites into the rounded nipple okay without grinding flats. @paige166 is right that it's the only tool that's held up for me on stubborn stuff, but don't force it too hard or you'll strip the nipple. A little penetrating oil first can make all the difference.

Ngl, the Park Tool SW-7 is the only one that’s ever worked for me on old rims.
