Dropped $30 on a box set for a show I already watched, zero regrets
Last month I bought the complete DVD collection of a 2014 Nordic mystery series for $30 at a pawn shop in Cleveland, even though I streamed it free last winter. The whole thing was worth it because the subtitles actually match the dialogue, which was not the case on that sketchy streaming site I used before. Anyone else pay twice for a show just to get a better version, or am I the only fool who double dips on purpose?

The whole thing was worth it because the subtitles actually match the dialogue is such a specific kind of pain I felt that in my soul. Tbh I bought the same season of a British crime show three times because I kept finding out the region locked discs had different cuts, so you are not alone in this. I pretty much treat rewatching like a hobby, so paying again for a cleaner version feels less like a mistake and more like buying the same sandwich twice because the first one was good. Ngl the sketchy streaming subs are the worst, half the time the words barely line up and everyone is named Guy One and Woman Two. Honestly at thirty bucks for a whole set you basically stole it, and I would do the exact same thing without blinking.
