Rant: Found out my B12 gummy had 3x the dose on the label, and I took it daily for 8 months
I was poking around the NIH fact sheet page last Tuesday night and saw a line about how supplement labels can be off by a lot, so I looked up the third party test results for the gummy I take every morning. The lab sheet said one batch tested at 3,200 mcg when the bottle claims 1,000 mcg, and I had been popping those daily since January. My last blood draw in June came back at 1,400 pg/mL with a normal range topping out around 900, which my doctor just shrugged off as fine. Now I am wondering if the pins and needles in my feet last spring were the gummies and not my desk chair. Has anyone here actually sent a bottle off to a lab, and what did it cost you?
