Shoutout to the guy who told me my cold water baths were too warm

I was doing 60F baths for months thinking I was tough. He said go below 55F or don't bother. First 50F dip was brutal but recovery got way better. Anyone else get humbled by temperature advice?

Wait, you mean I've been doing 60F baths and calling myself a cold plunge guy but really I was just taking a slightly chilly bath? That's brutal to hear but yeah, you're right. I had the same thing happen with my sleep. Thought I was getting good rest until someone told me my room was 74 degrees and I needed it below 68. First few nights at 65F felt like I was camping in the arctic but now I fall asleep way faster. It's funny how we convince ourselves we're doing the hard thing when really we're just doing the comfortable thing with a sticker on it. I guess getting humbled by small numbers is just part of getting better at anything.

It's funny how often the difference between okay and great is just a few degrees or small adjustments we never think to make. Same thing happened to me with coffee ratios and sleep schedules once I stopped trying to be comfortable and just followed the real numbers.

@daniel_cooper34 Wait, you're telling me you dialed in your coffee ratios with a scale and a timer like some kind of mad scientist? That's wild. I just wing it with a tablespoon and hope for the best. But hey, makes sense with the water temps too, like that .5 degree difference in your sleep schedule probably hits different after a few nights.
