Showerthought: I used to raw dog my coffee intake, now I measure it and feel kinda dumb about the old days
Back in my early 20s I'd slam 5 or 6 cups a day and just ride the jitters out, thinking that was normal. Somewhere around 2019 I started getting these weird afternoon crashes where I couldn't focus at all, so I bought a cheap $12 gram scale and started weighing my beans instead of eyeballing scoops. Turns out I was brewing like 2x the caffeine I thought, and cutting it to a real 200mg dose fixed the crashes in maybe 10 days. Now I time my last cup before 1pm and sleep way better, but I still miss just chugging coffee without thinking about it. Anyone else track their caffeine or is that too much work for you?
