Update: I thought cold plunges were total BS until I hit 10 minutes in Lake Michigan
I used to roll my eyes at the whole cold plunge thing, figured it was just rich guys in California pretending to be tough. Then my buddy in Chicago dragged me out to Montrose Beach back in March when the water was 37 degrees. First 30 seconds sucked so bad I almost climbed out, but by minute 3 my hands went numb and I actually felt calm. I did 10 minutes total and walked back to the car feeling weirdly awake, not shaky like I expected. Did it 4 more times over 2 weeks and my sleep tracker showed I was falling asleep about 20 minutes faster on those nights. Now I'm not saying it cures anything, but I was wrong to write it off completely. Anyone else notice a real sleep change from cold exposure or was that just me wanting it to work?
