Old timer at the flea market told me my anvil was too clean
He pointed at my anvil and said 'you ain't hit it enough to need that wire brush,' then walked off without buying anything, still think about that three months later.

That old timer's comment ever make you just stop and look at your tools different now?

@wesleyflores The warped file handle taught me more than any YouTube video ever could.

Oh man that old timer comment hits different every time I think about it. I swear I've spent more time cleaning my anvil than actually hammering on it, which probably makes me look like I'm running a museum exhibit instead of a forge. One time I was so proud of getting a mirror finish on the face, then my buddy came over and asked if I was using it as a kitchen countertop. That same old timer would probably laugh his ass off seeing me try to straighten a bent screwdriver with a sledgehammer and miss three times before connecting. Some days I think my tools are judging me harder than those flea market guys.
