Can we talk about the job site in Gary where the foreman used a cracked acetylene hose for three days?

I was there last Tuesday and watched him light a fitting with a BBQ lighter because the spark was acting up, has anyone else run into that kind of sketchy setup on a big tank job?

Man, a BBQ lighter on an acetylene fitting? That's insane. That stuff explodes if you look at it wrong. I've seen guys use a cigarette lighter before but that's just asking for a flashback down the hose. A cracked line for three days too, that's not just sketchy that's a death wish waiting to happen. Hope nobody was smoking near that thing.

Watched a guy on a site in Hammond use electrical tape on a cracked propane hose once, told me it was fine as long as you checked for bubbles every hour. I lit myself on fire last year trying to be slick with a cheap torch, so I got no room to talk about bad decisions.
