Spent $450 on a cheap flux core welder, it burned me twice
Picked up a budget wire feed machine from a pawn shop in Boise to do some onsite patch work. First job, the feed motor stalled on a 3/8 fillet and I had to grind out the whole bead. Second time, the contact tip fused to the liner mid pass and ruined a tank flange repair. I should have stuck with my old stick setup and rented a rig for the day. Anyone else get burned by cheaping out on a welder instead of renting for a one off job?
