Online arguments are mostly people talking past each other for quick dopamine hits. You actually have to listen and think in a book club, which is way harder. It builds a different kind of skill, the patience to understand something fully before you dunk on it. Maybe it seems quiet compared to the drama of a forum, but the talk actually goes somewhere.
