Yeah but that's exactly the point though. A book club forces you to really sit with one idea for weeks, not just fire off hot takes. Online arguments are mostly people talking past each other for quick dopamine hits. You actually have to listen and think in a book club, which is way harder. It builds a different kind of skill, the patience to understand something fully before you dunk on it. Maybe it seems quiet compared to the drama of a forum, but the talk actually goes somewhere.
