Hit exactly 1,000 pages in my book club's July read and nobody else believed me
My book club in Denver picked this massive historical novel for July, like 987 pages long. I finished the last chapter on a Tuesday night and my Kindle showed exactly 1,000 pages when I checked the stats including the author notes. When I told the group chat everyone called me a liar until I screenshotted it and posted the proof. Has anyone else hit a weird milestone like that with a book you totally expected to drag?

Bet that 1,000 page thing is a glitch with the Kindle stats more than a real milestone, those counters include all that front matter and author notes that nobody counts. Next time someone finishes a huge book before you, try flipping to the very last chapter early and counting the actual story pages yourself, you might find the real number is way lower and save yourself the argument. Most people just scan the file info and call it done, 1,000 pages looks good for bragging rights even if it's technically padded. What other weird stats do people get hung up on when they're just trying to make it through a doorstopper?

Kindle stats are definitely padded with front matter, makes the number sound more impressive than it really is. Still a cool coincidence though.
