A week of perfect signatures and a huge mess
Last week I had a job to bind twenty copies of a local history book for a museum. The first three days went great, every single signature folded and sewed up clean. Then on Thursday, my main glue pot tipped over and covered my bench in a sticky mess that took two hours to clean. I lost a whole afternoon and had to rush the last five books, which I'm not happy about. Has anyone else had a small disaster totally wreck your schedule on a big job?

Had a similar glue spill once. It's not really a small disaster though, it's a major one. That stuff gets everywhere and ruins your whole flow. Makes a one day job take three.

Ugh, you're so right. The real cost is the mental reset after you clean up the mess. You just lose all your momentum and have to start over from scratch.

Used to think a clean workspace was just about being tidy, but Harper's totally right about the mental reset cost. That lost momentum is the real killer, not the cleanup time. A spill like that doesn't just ruin your bench, it breaks your focus for the whole project. Makes you rush the finish on work you were proud of, and that's the worst part.
