Dropped $60 on a bone folder that creases worse than my thumb
Bought a fancy teflon bone folder from a shop in Austin last year thinking it would fix my signatures, but it just slides across the paper and leaves soft dents, so now it sits in a drawer while I use the $3 plastic one from the craft store, has anyone actually found a bone folder worth the cash or are we all just fooling ourselves?
Man, I gotta push back on this one. I have a $25 bone folder from a bookbinding supply shop and it beats any plastic tool I have ever used, mostly because real bone burnishes the paper instead of just pressing it flat. Teflon is the actual problem here, not the price, since it is slick by design and will never grab the fibers the way bone does. You paid for the wrong material, not for a bad idea.
