That video trend where people pretend to fall asleep mid-sentence

I was scrolling through stuff on my break last night around 2 AM and saw this trend where someone just stops talking and closes their eyes like they passed out. It's supposed to be funny but I watched three different versions and they all ended the same way with some loud noise. My coworker said she saw a compilation that had over 2 million views. I don't get it, is the joke just that someone looks tired? Has anyone else noticed this one popping up everywhere?

Man I saw one of those at like 1:30 in the morning and it got me good the first time because I was half asleep myself. My buddy sent me a bunch and after the third one I was just waiting for the jump scare every time. It's like the same joke over and over but I still laugh at it when I'm tired enough.

Hold on, 1:30 in the morning and you were half asleep, and you still let your buddy send you more of those things? That's a level of trust I just don't have in anyone after midnight. I would've thrown my phone across the room after the first one, not asked for a whole bunch more. But you're right though, the tired brain is a weird thing. It just starts finding everything funny when you've been awake too long, even the same old jump scare.
