Tried the frozen honey trend from TikTok and my jaw still clicks 3 weeks later
So against my better judgment I tried that frozen honey thing everyone was doing (you know, the one where they squeeze a whole bottle of honey into a block and chew on it). I figured it couldn't be that bad since it's just honey, right? Wrong. My back molar made a sound I can still hear and now it clicks when I open wide, three weeks later. The videos never show the part where it's basically like chewing on a hard candy the size of a brick, and apparently I'm not the only one since my dentist in Akron said she's seen four of these this month. Anybody know if this clicking thing goes away on its own or am I stuck with it?
Wait, your dentist has seen FOUR of these this month? That is wild that a silly TikTok trend is actually sending people to the dentist in real life. I get why you tried it since it looks harmless, but a whole block of frozen honey sounds like chewing on a rock. I'm no expert but jaw clicking that sticks around for weeks is usually your body telling you something got strained, so I'd get it checked before it turns into a bigger problem. Does the clicking hurt when it happens or is it just annoying?
Four?? That seems like a lot for one dentist to see, like what are the odds. @elliot_roberts honestly even if it's just annoying I'd still get it looked at, a few weeks of clicking is a long time for something to stick around.
