Finally got a laser level for my chimney rebuilds

I spent about 250 bucks on a decent one last month. I was doing a tall chimney repair in the old part of town, and trying to keep everything plumb with just a string line was a real fight. The laser let me set my corners and check my work in seconds, not minutes. Has anyone else found a tool that just cuts out a whole chunk of stress on a job?

Honestly I used to think they were just for show, but like emma_garcia said, the speed is what sells it. You stop fighting the tool and just get the work done. That's worth the money right there.

A laser level is a game changer for sure, but isn't plumb for vertical and level for flat?

Yeah, @casey818 is right about the terms, but honestly the tool just makes both checks so much faster.
