Hot take: I ditched my 4 foot level for a 6 foot one on a garage in Reno and it was the right call
The walls were 24 feet long with a 7 foot door opening and that extra 2 feet of level caught a hump in the slab my short one rolled right over, so what length level do you all grab for long runs?
Bought a 78 inch Stabilia for doing cabinets last spring because my old 4 footer kept lying to me on a kitchen island that was 9 feet long. Turns out the island had a low spot in the middle, maybe a quarter inch dip, and the short level just floated right over it while my countertops rocked like a seesaw. Ended up shimming the whole thing and the 78 inch caught stuff I never would have seen. That level barely fits in my truck bed though, which is the trade off nobody talks about. Still grab it over the small one every time now for anything over 6 feet.
