Just realized buying in bulk at the warehouse store cost me more in the long run

So I got a membership at Costco about 6 months back. Thought I was saving big by grabbing the jumbo packs of chicken and rice. But then I noticed my fridge was stuffed with stuff I couldn't eat before it went bad. Like that giant bag of spinach that turned to mush. And the 5 pound block of cheese that got moldy. Now I'm wondering if it's better to just shop weekly at the regular grocery store for smaller amounts. Anyone else deal with this? Do you guys stick to bulk or go with smaller trips?

Is it just me or does everything come with hidden costs these days?

Ended up tossing half that 5lb bag of frozen chicken after six months.

Same thing happened to me lol. I heard somewhere that frozen chicken is still good way longer than people think if it stays sealed right but six months is pushing it. @young.michael I feel you though, half the time I forget stuff in the freezer until it's too late. Now I just write the date on the bag with a sharpie so I don't have to guess anymore.
