My mom's old rice cooker beats my fancy new one every time
I spent $60 on a digital rice cooker with all these settings last summer. My mom still uses the $15 basic one she got at a garage sale in 2009. I did a side by side test with the same jasmine rice and water ratio. Hers came out fluffy every single time, mine either stuck or got mushy. I finally gave the fancy one to my brother and went back to basic. Has anyone else found that simpler equipment just works better for staple meals?
