Why does nobody talk about hitting $10,000 in a plain savings account instead of investing it
I hit $10,000 in my savings account last Tuesday after 14 months of putting away $700 a month, and the weird part is everyone keeps telling me I wasted that time by not throwing it into the market. Honestly, the whole point for me was having a real cushion after I lost my job in 2021 and burned through $4,000 in six weeks on rent and groceries. Is there anyone else here who thinks a boring emergency fund beats chasing returns, or am I just being too careful with my money?
