Blew $15 on a cheap ruler that ruined my whole spread layout
I thought I was being smart grabbing a 6 inch ruler from the dollar store for my bullet journal. But the measurements were off by like 2mm every inch, so my boxes and lines were all crooked by the time I got halfway down the page. Had to tear out 3 pages and start over with a proper metal ruler from the craft store. Has anyone else gotten burned by dollar store measuring tools?

Ngl that tracks with a bigger pattern I've noticed: the cheaper the tool, the more it costs you in time and frustration later. Dollar store stuff is fine for things you'll use once or for decoration, but anything that needs to be precise is a gamble every time. It's like buying off brand tape that barely sticks - you end up spending more money and energy fixing the mess than if you just got the real thing from the start.

Honestly you're so right @lee689. There's nothing worse than thinking you saved money and then having to redo the whole job anyway.
