I watched a woman at the DMV in Toledo plan her whole week on a napkin and it finally clicked why my fancy app never worked
I was waiting 45 minutes for a new license and this lady next to me pulled out a napkin, wrote 6 things down, and crossed them off as she made her calls. I have been fighting with a $12 subscription app for 8 months and she did more in one sitting with a free napkin. The whole point is the crossing off, not the layout, and I think most of us forgot that. So what is the dumbest thing you have ever used as a bullet journal? Mine was the back of a receipt from a gas station in Toledo and it worked better than anything I bought.
Honestly the napkin lady figured out something the app people will never admit. It's not the tool, it's the act of writing it down and then killing it with a pen. I've used old homework sheets, the back of my phone bill, and once a pizza box when I was moving and everything was in boxes. The trick is you gotta keep it somewhere you actually look, that's the only real rule. A napkin works because it's right there when the thought hits you. Paying $12 a month for pretty colors and sync features is just procrastination with extra steps.
