The debate over monthly spreads vs rolling weekly layouts
I notice a lot of people in this community post these elaborate monthly spreads with every event written out, but when I tried that it just turned into a mess I never looked at. Rolling weekly layouts let me adapt as the week goes on, but they take more time to set up each Sunday. Which approach actually helps you stick with your journal long term?

Is it really about the layout though, or more about how much you actually need to reference back to what you've written?

I read somewhere that your brain remembers stuff better when you write it by hand, so layout probably doesn't matter much.

Agree with you honestly. I barely look back at my notes unless I'm totally stuck for a word or forgetting a major plot point. Like if youre deep in writing and know your story pretty well, the layout of your notes just doesn't matter that much. The real trick is figuring out what you actually need to remember, not how pretty the notebook is. Once you know that, you can just scribble it on napkins if you want lol.
