Wasted $25 on those fancy stencils from Etsy

I bought a set of 8 stencil templates for my bullet journal last month because I wanted cleaner headers. Figured $25 was a decent deal for how much use I'd get out of them. First week they worked okay but by the third use the plastic edges were already peeling and smudging ink everywhere. Now I'm back to drawing my headers freehand with a ruler and it looks way better. Has anyone else had better luck with a specific brand of stencils?

Did you reach out to the seller about the peeling edges? A lot of Etsy shops will send a replacement if the quality's that bad.

Wait, isn't Etsy's policy usually to just offer a refund instead of a replacement?

Nah but that's the thing though, @sammartinez - a lot of these Etsy shops are just drop shippers now, they don't even have the product in hand to check it. So even if they send a replacement, it's probably gonna come from the same bad batch. I've had this happen twice with decals where the replacement had the same peeling issue. You're better off just getting a refund and finding a shop that actually makes their own stuff, you can usually tell by how long the shipping takes and if they have photos of their actual workspace.
