My accountant said 'just put it in your own name' about a $12k client contract and that scared me
I sat down with my accountant two days ago to go over my LLC paperwork for my landscaping business here in Austin. When I asked how to sign a $12,000 contract with a new commercial client, he shrugged and said 'just put it in your own name, it's easier.' That hit different because if something goes wrong on that job, my house and savings are on the line instead of just the business. I thought having an LLC was enough, but apparently signing contracts the wrong way can let a lawyer come after me personally. Has anyone here actually dealt with this? Do I need a separate business bank account and specific signing language on every contract?
