Honestly, the "fishing wire" trick is great and all, but the real pro move is how he probably showed you that trick without even using a single tool. Ngl, nowadays everyone's quick to grab a fish tape or a glow rod, but those old guys have like a sixth sense for using gravity and a simple coat hanger. Tbh, the real lesson there isn't the technique, it's that a lot of new stuff in hardware stores is overcomplicating stuff we already had solved. They just know how to make the wall do the work for you, y'know?
