My mentor told me to never use canned air on a shutter, and he was right.

I had a sticky Minolta X-700 and thought a quick blast would free it up. Ended up blowing dust right into the magnet assembly, which took an hour to clean out properly. Anyone else have a 'listen to the old guy' moment that saved you a headache?

Sometimes you have to learn the hard way yourself. A careful, short blast in the right spot can work just fine.

Oh man, @alice928. That sounds like a story that ends with a trip to the hardware store.

Agree with @alice928, a quick targeted blast works fine if you know what you're doing.
