inUpdate: I started using a cheap fishing line spool to manage my umbilical in a current
Heard some welders use old garden hose reels for their lines, same basic idea.

inMaple Street biodiesel is giving filters a hard time
My uncle's farm in Minnesota lost two diesel generators last January because of bad winter blend. The fuel gelled solid in the lines below zero. It's not overblown, it's basic chemistry. The wrong mix turns to wax and blocks filters instantly. You can ruin an injector pump in minutes if it's not treated right. It's a real gamble with some of these fuel stations.

inMy sourdough starter finally doubled after I stopped using tap water
My tap water's been fine for years though. Plants are more sensitive than people, so it's probably not a big deal for us.

inI finally fixed my bike chain from slipping on hills
Man, I feel that. I used to do the exact same thing until my chain skipped off and gouged my frame. Total nightmare. What finally clicked for me was just using a ruler to measure the slack, like the manual says. It sounds dumb, but it takes two minutes and you don't need any special tools. My bike got way quieter and shifts better now. It's one of those things that seems harder than it is.
