Picked up a thrift store rice cooker for $6 and it changed my meal prep
I found a beat-up Zojirushi at a Goodwill in Portland last month and figured why not try it. Been using it to batch cook beans and lentils along with rice, saves me like $15 a week on canned stuff. Anyone else got a thrift store kitchen tool that just works?

Oh honey, that rice cooker is for cooking rice not for boiling beans and lentils.

Yeah "my whole world is a lie" is pretty much how I felt when I found out the same thing. I spent years trying to cook beans in my rice cooker and wondering why they came out rock hard every single time. Turns out the manual actually says something about it but who reads those things anyway.
