That guy who brought in a 1970s Polaroid and got mad when I couldn't fix it
Some dude came into my shop last month with a Polaroid Land Camera that had a cracked bellows and jammed shutter. He kept saying 'it's just a simple camera' while I tried to explain the vintage glue is impossible to match anymore. Has anyone else had customers who think old gear should be easy to repair?

Ugh, is it really that deep though?

Well, hang on now, let me grab my philosopher's hat and a cup of coffee before I answer that. Last time I checked, we were just supposed to be discussing whether pineapple belongs on pizza, not solving the mysteries of the universe. But sure, if you want to make it deep, I guess we can start a podcast about it.

Three bucks says that guy watches too many YouTube restoration videos where they magically fix junk in ten minutes flat lol. I work in a medical office and we get the same attitude from patients who think their 20 year old denture should just snap back together like new. The thing is, old gear was made with old methods and old materials that literally don't exist on the market anymore. People forget that things degrade over time and you can't just throw modern superglue at vintage plastic and call it a day. It's not about it being a simple camera, it's about the simple fact that time has wrecked the parts beyond reasonable repair.
