I figured a $12 headlamp from a gas station in Flagstaff would die on night one, it outlasted my $70 one
Bought it as a backup 3 years ago and it's still going while my fancy one quit after a season of rain. Anyone else had cheap gear just refuse to die on them?

Isn't that just how it goes, the cheap stuff never quits and the pricey stuff gives up early? Sorry your fancy one tapped out after a single wet season, that's a real kick in the gut. At least you've got the gas station champ still pulling its weight.
