My old sleeping pad lost 2 inches of loft in one season

I bought a self-inflating pad last March and by October it was basically a yoga mat. I checked the valve and found a tiny crack near the seam that must have started during a trip to Moab. Anyone else had a pad fail this fast, or did I just get a bad one?

Patched mine with seam sealer, lasted two more seasons. @flores.emma's right about fixing it.

Basically a yoga mat" is doing a lot of work here. I mean, two inches sounds bad but unless you're a side sleeper with bad hips, is it really that different? Also, a tiny crack near the seam sounds fixable with some seam sealer, not like the whole pad is ruined. Maybe you're just being dramatic about it.
