Changed my view on that influencer's apology video after I saw the receipts

I thought the apology from that tech podcast host was genuine, mostly because he looked so upset. Then someone posted screenshots of him making the same offensive jokes in a paid subscriber chat just three days later. The apology was a 12-minute video that got a lot of sympathy. Seeing the new comments, which cost people $5 a month to access, changed my whole take. Has anyone else had a moment where proof from behind a paywall flipped the script for them?

That five dollar paywall is the real truth serum. He figured the apology video was the public fix, and the paying fans would get the real him. Makes you wonder who the performance was really for, right?

Honestly five bucks is just a coffee these days. Most people paying that probably already liked him anyway. We're all overthinking a pretty simple cash grab.
