I always thought celebrity apologies were fake until I watched one that actually listed specific actions

Last Tuesday I watched a singer's 8 minute apology video where she named the three people she hurt and exactly when it happened back in 2019. She even said she paid for their therapy costs out of pocket. It made me wonder if we are too quick to call all apologies fake just because some of them are. Has anyone else seen an apology that actually changed your mind about forgiving someone?

Man, that's exactly what made me forgive my brother after we didn't talk for two years. He sent me a long text listing out the three things he actually did wrong, no excuses, and then said he'd been going to therapy for six months to work on his anger issues. Seeing him own up to the specific moments instead of just saying "I'm sorry you feel that way" was huge. It didn't fix everything overnight, but it made me want to try again because he put real work into it. That kind of apology is rare but when it's real, you just know.

@lunar89 That realization about therapy is the real game changer right? It's one thing to say sorry but it's a whole different thing to actually fix what's broken inside yourself so you don't keep hurting people.
