inHollowtech vs square taper for a commuter that eats cranks?
Snapped spindles usually means the BB shell threads are shot or your frame alignment is off, not that square taper is weak. Hollowtech won't fix a bad shell, and the bearings sit outside where road spray kills them faster than a sealed cartridge ever would. Fix the frame first, then decide, otherwise you'll be eating cranks and outboard bearings.

inChose the $8 third-party case over the official one for my viral camera, no regrets
My buddy Marcus grabbed a $6 gas station case for his phone back in 2021, mainly as a joke because it had a cartoon dinosaur on it. He figured he'd replace it in a week. That thing survived him dropping his phone off a bar stool in Nashville, a bike spill on gravel, and his kid using it as a teething toy for six months. The official $60 case he bought later cracked after one small fall from his couch. He still uses the dinosaur one and calls it his lucky charm. Cheap stuff can be weirdly tough, but I think it's mostly luck of the draw, you know?
