I counted 17 apologies from the same actor in a single year
I was reading an article about that actor who keeps getting in trouble, and I decided to tally up all his public statements. Over the last 12 months, he's put out 17 separate apologies for different old tweets and interviews. The thing is, after the 5th or 6th one, they all started to sound exactly the same, like he was just reading a script his publicist wrote. It made me wonder if he even understands why people were upset, or if he's just trying to check a box. Has anyone else noticed a public figure where the apology count got so high it lost all meaning?

Honestly, after a certain point it just feels like we're all watching someone get yelled at forever for old stuff. Maybe it's just me, but the 17th apology for a ten year old tweet is way less serious than whatever new thing is actually happening right now.

Oh my gosh, yes! It totally feels like a copy-paste job after a while. I saw a singer do the same thing last year, and by apology number four I just stopped caring. It just becomes noise.
