That actress's apology about the old tweets felt like a copy-paste job

I saw that actress from the new Netflix show post a long apology for tweets she made back in 2012. She said she was sorry and had changed, but every line sounded like something her PR team wrote. There were no specific details, like naming the jokes or saying why they were wrong. Has anyone else found it hard to trust apologies that are so generic like that?

Oh man, I totally feel this. It's like when I apologized to my buddy for forgetting his birthday, but I just said "hey sorry I'm a terrible friend" without actually remembering what gift he wanted. That's basically what she did, just a blanket "sorry for being young and dumb" with zero details. PR teams gotta stop writing these things like they're filling out a form. I'd respect it more if she just said "yeah those tweets were trash and here's why specifically." But hey, at least she didn't blame autocorrect like I do when I text my mom the wrong thing.

Probably got 'sorry' on a bingo card somewhere.

Saw something the other day about how British people say sorry more than anyone else, which honestly tracks. We'll apologize for things that aren't even our fault.
